Blu Redux:

Been meaning to post the room I stayed in at the Radisson Blu in Edinburgh but have forgotten to do so.

For £250 per night, this spacious sleeping quarters for transient sentient beings housed all 4 of us traveling. That translates to £62.50 per night for each of us confederates while we imbibed and inhaled the city and the chilly air of cosmo Edinburgh.

2 double beds, a queen bed, soft clean sheets, a knock out bathroom, a sweet Spanish hotel worker who had no idea how to work this ultra sophisticated coffee maker (like us) available in the room and 5 sets of giggles in 3 different languages because of this mishap. Priceless!

I do recommend it!

Funky Shoes, Purple Leaf and An Eerie Castle :

WEEK OF MARCH 18, 2012:
The Funky Shoes:
Theme: Shoes Monday. Votes: 16.
These are indeed the funkiest shoes I own. I do not mean to be vulgar when I wear it, I just appreciate good workmanship and style.

The Purple Leaf:
Theme: Leaf On Thursday. Votes: 28.
This Purple Agave Lipstick Plant  gave me the highest votes up to the time of it's post and maybe even to date! I like it but I didn't expect this kind of reception for it! mahvelous!

The Eerie Castle:
Theme: Monochrome Monday. Votes: 19.
This photo I processed to make it look as vintage as possible, in fact, medieval. Like the age and architecture of the castle! Edinburgh Castle to be exact. To me it's as if, a period piece film is about to unfold with this pic! ;-)

West, North and Crustaceans :

The West:
This too is a re-post of a superbly conceptualized home in Scottsdale, AZ. And what is not to admire with this structure? the whites comforts the desert, the door, the strategically arranged windows! It's the stuff of good conversation! 15 votes.

The North:
This is for the theme: "Sacred Sunday" again I believe and it is a very well aged Stained Glass window at St. Margaret's Church in Edinburgh. I must say, that church was a treasure trove for photography! 14 votes.

and by golly, the crustaceans:
The theme "Food Friday" is a very fun and challenging photography theme in Google Plus. Since it's an international crowd up there, one can just imagine the photos from all the corners of the earth that streams in! I love participating in it and I have made the best of virtual friends in this theme of all because cuisine is such a genial topic! 10 votes!

Solution to the Hiatus

Greetings!

I have been remiss here and it's reprehensible since this site is supposed to represent the things that interest me which I wish to share with you but the absence has been rather lengthy.

Indeed there is something else that has caught my fancy and it's the social networking site named Google Plus! I have been spending much of my internet time there particularly around the photography circles. I have participated in the daily themed-photography groups and it has sort of filled the void in my socialization.

But because I also don't want to neglect this my own personal platform here in Blogspot, I came up with this solution: I will post at least (here I go again with commitments), 3 pictures per week here in Et. al which was deemed as "well-liked" in G+!

I believe this way, until I get my bearings back into being diligent outside of photography, I will post various themed photos which I earnestly hope you will come to like!

Allow me to begin in chronological order going back to the week of March 4, 2012:

AND HERE GOES:

A photograph of St. Margarete's chapel nestled on top of the Edinburgh Castle.  This photo was posted for the theme: Sacred Sunday and I was pleased that some photographers who I consider "great" liked this picture and the techniques I used to achieve this kind of tonality!

Windows at The Blu

Wanted to share this picture I took at the Radisson Blu in Edinburgh, I was very impressed with this hotel, from the hospitality to the the conveniences it offered. For a reasonable price ($250 US per night), breakfast samples of blood sausages, Haggis-es and Lorne sausages with other hearty British fares, comfy beds and sincerely friendly staff - I well liked many things about this hotel.

I Wanna Edinburgh

The sad thing about this is that I don't live there. The good thing? I carried pictures with me from the place.

Just the stats Ma'am: Population: 471,650 (best guess); founded: prior to the 7th century; average life expectancy - male: 76.5; female: 81.4; tourists per year: 3.38 million and in my eyes, the no.1 tourist destination - of note...

And yes, and average of the people do speak like the bloke from the movie: "300."

Edinburgh...

I wanted to highlight the busy sections and the bustle of the city because it reveals that the old and the new co-exists with good balance here; that's what makes a great place to live and visit.
